Best Schools in Springville, Utah: A Complete Parent's Guide for Families
Springville sits at the mouth of Hobble Creek Canyon on the east side of Utah County, right next to Provo and Mapleton. It's a city of 35,268 people (2020 census) known as "Art City," home of the Springville Museum of Art, Art City Days every June, and bronze sculptures along Main Street. I was born and raised here, so this guide is personal for me.
If you're moving to Springville with kids, the first question is almost always the same: where will my children go to school?
Here's the short answer. Springville is part of Nebo School District, which uses a four-step setup: elementary school for kindergarten through 5th grade, middle school for 6th and 7th, junior high for 8th and 9th, and high school for 10th through 12th. Springville has six elementary schools, and almost every Springville family then shares the same three schools: Spring Canyon Middle, Springville Junior High and Springville High. Springville also has two tuition-free public charter schools.
Below you'll find every school serving Springville families, with grade levels, addresses and a link to each school's website. After that is a parent's guide answering the questions I hear most often.

Springville's Elementary Schools (K–5)
Springville has six elementary schools: Art City, Brookside, Cherry Creek, Meadow Brook, Sage Creek and Westside. Each one has its own boundary inside the city, so the elementary school is the one school assignment that really depends on your street.
- West of Main Street: Westside (about 640 students) on West Center and Meadow Brook (about 680) on 950 West.
- Near the center of town: Cherry Creek (about 455) on 200 East.
- East side: Art City (about 435) on 900 East, Brookside (about 360) on 750 East, and Sage Creek (about 465) on 700 East at 1050 South.
(Enrollment numbers are from federal school data for 2024–25.)
There's one wrinkle worth knowing. Hobble Creek Elementary, which sits in Mapleton, has a boundary that is split. Spring Canyon Middle School's own website says that about half of Hobble Creek's students move up to Spring Canyon Middle, and the other half go to Maple Grove Middle in Mapleton. If you're looking at a home near the Springville–Mapleton line, check that address carefully.
Spring Canyon Middle School — Grades 6–7
599 West 700 South, Springville | (801) 609-2400
Every Nebo sixth grader in Springville moves up to Spring Canyon Middle, home of the Wolves. It's a big school, with roughly 1,050 sixth and seventh graders. The school says it shares Springville High's boundary, so if you live in Springville (84663) and attend Nebo schools, this is your middle school. Students from all six Springville elementaries, plus part of Hobble Creek Elementary, come together here. That means sixth grade is when your child's future high school class first meets.
Springville Junior High — Grades 8–9
189 South 1470 East, Springville | (801) 489-2880
Eighth and ninth graders attend Springville Junior High. Its Master Singers choir performed alongside the high school choirs at the October 2026 opening of Springville High's new auditorium.
Springville High School — Grades 10–12
1205 East 900 South, Springville | (801) 489-2870
Springville High, home of the Red Devils, serves grades 10 through 12, with about 1,665 students. In October 2026 the school dedicated its new auditorium with a concert by its choirs and the Springville Junior High Master Singers.
Springville's Charter Schools
Charter schools are tuition-free public schools that don't use neighborhood boundaries. Families apply, and when there are more applicants than seats, admission is usually by lottery.
- Reagan Academy serves kindergarten through 8th grade at 1143 West Center, with about 680 students.
- Merit Preparatory Academy is a tuition-free public charter for grades 7–12 at 1440 West Center. Students choose a focus track, including concurrent enrollment for college credit, business, science and engineering, and fine arts.
A Parent's Guide to Springville Schools: Questions and Answers
Which schools will my child attend if I buy a home in Springville?
For most Springville homes, the path is your neighborhood elementary (K–5), then Spring Canyon Middle (6–7), Springville Junior High (8–9) and Springville High (10–12). The elementary school is the part that changes from street to street.
How do I check which schools a specific address feeds?
Call Nebo School District with the property address, or contact the elementary school you think it belongs to. Do this before you write an offer, especially if the home is near the edge of an elementary boundary or near the Springville–Mapleton line. I check this for my buyers on every home.
Why does Nebo split middle school and junior high?
According to Spring Canyon Middle's website, a Nebo bond restructured the district: 6th graders were moved out of the elementary schools and 7th graders out of the junior highs, creating 6–7 middle schools and 8–9 junior highs. Your child will change schools three times after elementary instead of twice. The upside is that each building serves a narrower age range.
Is there bus service?
Utah's school bus rules generally provide busing when the walk is more than 1½ miles for elementary students or more than 2 miles for middle and high school students. Contact Nebo School District for routes and stops for a specific address.
Can my child attend a different school?
Yes. Utah law allows open enrollment, which means applying to a public school outside your assigned boundary, and acceptance depends on space. Apply during the state's early enrollment window, which closes in early February. Transportation to a school outside your boundary isn't guaranteed. Charter schools like Reagan Academy and Merit Preparatory Academy have their own application deadlines and lotteries, so check their websites early.
How do the schools perform academically?
Rather than rely on a ranking website, I point families to the Utah School Report Card, the state's own yearly data on test scores, growth and graduation rates. Then visit the school and talk with the principal.
What about special education, 504 plans and IEPs?
Nebo School District provides special education services and 504 plans. If you're moving with an IEP or 504 plan, contact the district before you move so services carry over without a gap.
Do schools affect home values in Springville?
Somewhat more than in my Sanpete County towns, because Springville has six elementary boundaries. Some families shop for a particular elementary school. Middle school, junior high and high school are the same for almost all of Springville, so those don't create big price differences inside the city. What moves value most is still location, lot size, age and condition of the home, and whether it comes with secondary or irrigation water.
How I Help Families Match the Right School With the Right Home
I'm Sadie Wake, a Realtor with Aspen Leaf Realty. I was born and raised in Springville and lived in Mapleton for more than a decade, so I know these neighborhoods well. When a family tells me schools matter, I help them:
- Confirm the elementary boundary and bus stop for any home they're serious about.
- Weigh a walk-to-school neighborhood against more land on the edges of town.
- Plan around open enrollment and charter lotteries so they don't miss a deadline.
- Understand what older homes and properties with water involve, from irrigation shares to updates an older house may need.
